IMAGE MAKING PRACTICE

key concepts>>>>

- Transition/Migration ; lived experiences in places/spaces /geographies - central to my creative practice. This shapes Idea formation,  perspective and allows for dialogue/interrogation/questioning.

- Photography: a medium to journal and record the ever changing nature of things/places/ideas. Analogous to aspects of memory.  Prominent tool for image making.

- Image making involves going from a point of idea/knowledge to translation using tools/techniques

- Context:  necessary knowledge to understand/interpret/convey Idea/emotions/message.

- Translation: using a tool/medium : (photo, text, moving images, line of code e.t.c) to describe essentially

- Image making and storytelling can be used interchangeably within my practice as one foregrounds the use of images while the other does not necessarily.

- Image: (re)presentation of something/idea/ at the most basic level. (visually, metaphorically, e.t.c)

- Practice as a bricolage, reconstructing things/ideas from original context and making alternative meanings/complication/interrogations with them.

- Identity, fantasy, speculation, transition, in between within the context of globalization

- My process acknowledges the context of ideas/things/for and  in alternative manner in which the images are reconstructed.
